Sonic Adventure 2 speeds towards PSN/XBLA

Just announced at Comic Con this past weekend, Sega’s Sonic Adventure 2 will indeed be making the trip to the Xbox and PS3 with a new coat of HD paint.

Called “one of the last great Dreamcast releases” in the presser, Sonic Adventure 2 first hit retail shelves way back in 2001 for what was to be Sega’s last piece of hardware. The game first introduced fans to the ‘evil Sonic’ Shadow and features a pair of separate story lines – one for each ‘hog.

The remastered version of the game will reportedly sport the requisite HD graphical overhaul, leader board functionality, and (of course) Achievements/Trophies. There’s no release date as of yet, but fans of the blue blur should look for the game on their download service of choice ‘later this year’.
