One of the exciting features to come with the 3DS is the future implementation of virtual console – allowing people to relive the early days of handheld gaming with Game Boy and Game Boy Color downloads, at a price that should be relatively cheap.

While there are some obvious must haves (Super Mario Land, Zelda: Link’s Awakening), there was a lot of third party Game Boy games that have been all but lost to time. Below is a range of Game Boy games that we would just love to see revived on the Virtual Console.

And Yet It Moves Review (PC/Steam)

2D Platformers have been going strong for over 20 years now, which makes it even more impressive that And Yet it Moves manages to bring a unique game play element to the genre. The unique twist of being able to rotate the entire screen 90 degrees at will adds a completely new game play element to the standard run-and-jump 2D Platformers. Top it off with a unique cardboard cut-out art style, and And Yet it Moves is a ripping good time.

We now know a lot about the next generation of handheld gaming devices – the NGP and 3DS, and as far as we’re concerned, they’re both exceptional devices (from what we’ve seen and heard), and people with the money will probably want both.

But how do they compare when it comes to the increasingly-important download battlefield? There’s all kinds of predictions out there that slowly but surely, digital downloads will become the dominant way for games to be made available. Having a robust and intuitive online portal will become more than a nice-to-have, it will be a necessity.
