Five DSiWare games you should own

The DSi might soon be replaced by the 3DS, but the beauty of DSiWare is that it can be transferred over to the new console. So there's no better time than to stock up on the must-haves, ready for the new device. With that in mind, here's five (but by no means all) DSiWare games you really should have.

In the US, Nintendo enjoyed another strong year in terms of console sales, with 15.5 million units shifting in 2010.

Chillingo launches Sheeple Chase on iOS devices

It may be a division of EA now, but Chillingo continues to publish the same quirky, cute games to Apple's platforms. The newest to hit the App store is Sheeple Chase.


Rally Master Pro now available on iPad

Developer, Fishlabs, has made Rally Master Pro available on the iPad, in addition to the iPhone version.



Mass Effect 2 PS3 makes a surprise landing on PSN January 18


Mass Effect 2's release on the PlayStation platform had mixed reactions around the gaming world. PlayStation fans were ecstatic, while unsurprisingly many Xbox fans were a bit dismayed as the franchise moved into the multi-platform world. Mass Effect is a series that is not to be missed, and January 18, 2011, North America will get its hands on Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 followed by an January 21, 2011 release date for Europe.


Hysteria Project 2 will have you in hysterics... they hope.

Hysteria Project, a choose-your-own adventure horror game, is getting a sequel, courtesy of Bulkypix.

Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time is an awkward title, but it's the third game from New Zealand based developer and publisher, Stickmen Studios, to get a WiiWare release, and this one is coming on January 17.

Eight years on: Magic the Gathering Online

Magic the Gathering saw the first release of its online portal way back in 2002. Eight years later, two new versions of the portal and a huge number of new cards introduced today, and Magic the Gathering Online still accounts for a significant chunk of Wizards of the Coast's revenue. But after all these years, does the game still stand up, and do people still use it?



Thought: 3DS region locking locking Nintendo out of online competitiveness?

It appears that the 3DS will be region locked. This in itself is probably not too surprising, given Nintendo’s history, but given the 3DS will be involved in a tight battle for the growing online market, I fear it was a poor decision.

Partial E3 exhibitor lineup confirmed!

None of these will be a surprise, but good to know they'll all be there.

Alien Breed: Impact was a good game (read our review here). Capturing the moody atmosphere of James Cameron's Aliens, it was a high-action top-down dual stick shooter. At it must have been a commercial success, because now we have a sequel.
