His influence, even on gaming, an industry he wasn't a big fan of, was huge. Thanks to Jobs, small start up games developers had opportunity to build and sell products that they might never have had otherwise. Would we have seen the success stories of Firemint, Rovio and Chillingo if it wasn't for the iPhone and iPad? Unlikely.
And he gave us some great platforms that offer real insight to the future of gaming. This website, Digitally Downloaded, is itself here in great part because it was the iPhone and iPad that really kickstarted the downloadable content phenomenon.
So this note, as insignificant as it is, is to say thank you to Steve Jobs for making millions of people's lives more entertaining and more productive, and we hope he finally gets the rest he so deserves.
