Will Raptr be the Facebook for gamers?

Written By Matt Sainsbury on Friday, February 11, 2011 | 11:36

Raptr looks set to be the Facebook for gamers, and has taken off in a big way, with six million users currently registered, and $27 million in funding already raised.

The social platform allows gamers to track stats and connect with friends across Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. There’s also the ability to see what your friends are playing via iPhone.

Currently, the service also links in to Facebook, Twitter, AIM, Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, Steam and Xfire to help stay in touch with your gamer friends.

The additional funding will be used to expand the site’s offerings with new features for its community. Given the rate of growth – 750,000 new sign-ups a month, those extra features will no doubt be warmly received.

If you’re not already signed up, the website is http://raptr.com.
